In-home lifestyle newborn sessions have grown to be one of my favorite style of sessions to shoot. Being able to be apart of the pure bliss of bringing home a teeny, tiny, precious little miracle is one of the greatest feelings on Earth. It instantly throws me back to when I was that new mom and it was one of my little munchkins swaddled in a new blanket. Everyone is always so happy and I love hearing those soft, precious newborn cries (that turn into “MA!” screams WAY too quick 😉 )
I had the pleasure of meeting this family last fall when James’ big cousin Christian was first born & I did his newborn session. When Christian’s Mom, Erin, contacting me about getting a gift certificate for her sister, Ali, I was thrilled to get to see them again! Not to mention, I will be photographing their cousin’s wedding in the fall as well, so I get to watch these little babies grow up! James was brought home a perfect little 8 pound baby to his stylish gender neutral nursery that looks like it is right out of a Pottery Barn catalog. Ali & Mike waited to find out the sex of their baby until he made his debut. I have seen this more and more with my families recently and I love that idea. I wish I had enough patience and self-control to have waited to be surprised by my babies!
We had a great time hanging out, talking about babies & capturing this perfect little moment in their life. Now when James is 18 and going away to college, his parents can relive these memories when he was a tiny newborn and they first began that amazing adventure together becoming parents.
